Arenal Volcano Tour
Arenal National Park, 1992 Lava Fields
We travel 25 minutes to the far west side of the Arenal Volcano to begin the tour. The first section includes entry into the Arenal National Park, and the trail begins by crossing a beautiful river. We spend about 1 hour exploring the park. Our expert bilingual naturalist guide will spot animals, point out interesting plants, and educate you on a few of the more than 300 cures from rainforest plants. Common sightings include: 3 types of monkeys, White-nosed Coatis, wild boars, 2 types of toucans, Oro Pendulas, Golden Eyelash Viper Snakes and Boa Constrictors, White-tailed deer, Great Curassows and Poison Dart Frogs. The park trail is wide and flat making it easy for almost any fitness level. |
Our reward at the end of this trail is a path cut through the old lava flows of 1992. Here you can explore, pick up a souvenir, or watch the sunset over Lake Arenal as our guide explains the history of this magnificent volcano.
Drinks are included as you relax and listen to the incredible sounds of the volcano. Hopefully, Mother Nature will keep the clouds high enough to allow us to see an unbelievable display of falling lava rocks. From this lookout you will also hear the many sounds of nature from the rainforest, and enjoy the beautiful night view of Arenal Lake. Listen to a variety of frogs, toucans, insects, and watch as thousands of lightening bugs go by... |
